WHAT COULD HAPPEN NEXT?

Everything in this life is about choices. We are always going to make choices. The choice to wake up. The choice not to. Life always gives you many choices. It also gives you the choice to sit down and say I have no choice. Each and everyone of the choices we make will influence the set of choices life offers to us next time. It will also have consequences. And that is the thing that is troubling.

It is very important to not rush to taking a decision each time. Even with the small choices, because there's always going to be an after effect. Sometimes we the effects come when we've forgotten about the choices we made. Always stop, even if it's for a second, and ask yourself "what could happen next if you made a certain choice".

If someone shouts at you, what could happen next if you shouted back? If someone cheated on you, what could happen if your cheated back? If someone lied to you what could happen next if you stopped trusting whatever they say? Every choice is always going to have an outcome. Very often, when in the moment, we never stop to think of the outcomes. We let the moment tell us what choices to make, sometimes leading to regret.

Every choice you make right now will affect your path of life, either instantly or some time in the future. Always pause, and ask yourself, "What could happen next?".

A CARING CIRCLE

I wasn't planning to write about this today, but a lot has happened which has led to me writing this. I am writing it out of a concerned and caring heart for each and everyone of you out there.

Times are not getting easier for anyone, especially with the current global economic downswing. Many people have gotten used to the life they had before and sometimes it's just too hard to downgrade. Many who have put up a front of living the good life cannot/do not want to live anything less. And this has created a very big problem which many are not aware of. Abuse and psychological issues.

We often see those around us, including friends, showing off the good life on. Be it in person or on social media, these people always seem to be happy. And we as they close friends or loved ones, encourage such behavior. Our comments, and behavior around these people, though not meant to harm, actually do harm. We are often not too real with these people. And sometimes they do not feel free around us. What we need is an open environment with loved ones. A real environment of truth and openness wherein we are all free to express how we feel.

With regards to women, this good life chase, can at times be a mask to hide the abuse. And if we as such a person's friends do not make her feel free enough to open up without fear of shaming, then we are failing as friends. Both male and female friends of such a person should make the person feel free enough to talk about anything. We need to be real friends to those around us, and not just the 'rich' one but all of our friends. There have recently been many cases of women who were being abused but hiding behind the good life. There are many more out there, and it takes you and me by being friends to actually get these people to open up. And when they do, we ought to make them feel protected, with no shaming or judgments.

Another issue is with regards to emotional and psychological states. This is something that can affect anyone, and society doesn't want to openly talk about it. Many people who took their lives could've been saved had they had good friends who listen. Often times we can tell when someone is not alright. But instead of making the person feel free to open up and reassuring them our love and protection, we carry on as if everything is normal. And when we lose the person, we then want to claim we loved them. Sometimes it takes just a hug and reminding your friends how much you love them, in order for them to open up.

I urge you all to go out and be positive and observant. Go and be great support system. Be real with those around you. Remind them that it's okay to cry and ask for help. Show them your support and protection. You will save someone's life by doing so. Create an open environment which encourages speaking out. Do not be that person who shows love as the coffin goes down. Show the love while the person is still around. Let's us go and change the world and make it an environment where we all grow together and take care of one another.

LOVE YOURSELF AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH

What a wonderful time it is to be alive. To start this week on a positive, let's discuss the issue of taking care of health and loving yourself.

Loving yourself is the best gift you can give to yourself. It is a gift no one else will give to you better than you can. Show people how they should love you by loving yourself first. You are the one who knows yourself best. Very often people are left sad and lonely because they give out so much love and never stop to give themselves the very same love. This week, I urge you to pause, and love yourself. Have time to sit down and reflect on how far you've come and how strong you are. After all this time of neglecting yourself, you owe it to yourself to show yourself love. Give yourself that hug you've always been giving out to others when they needed someone.

Let it not just end with the love, but also take care of your health. Take care of your health is not just the usual exercise and eating healthy. I will assume you already know that that's the foundation to good health. But on top of exercising and healthy diets, you also need to take care of what you feed you head and emotions. Your thoughts are just as important as the food you eat. Who you spend time with, talk to and what you talk about is just as important. Expose yourself to positive things only and cut off negativity from your life. It is very easy to get caught up in negativity and pity parties. Change your thoughts and start seeing yourself as beautiful and deserving. Go out and make plans believing in yourself that you can do it. Exercise and healthy food will do nothing for you if you mind isn't in it's right place.

I challenge you to love yourself and take care of your health. Have a wonderful week ahead.

DO THAT WHICH YOU EXPECT

What a world we live in.
A world where everyone wants something.
But nobody stops to think twice.
We all want but we never give
We are all alive but never live
Masquerading as angel, yet preach no peace
What a world we live in.

Give me that let me eat
I know my rights but I do not care about yours
I am right and perfect, so I can judge
Everyone is on my side so I do as I please
The only victim in this life is me
So I will do as I please and no one will protect you
And if you ever retaliate you will become the monster
I want to protected yet I feast on the unprotected
This I say because this is the world we live in
Oh What a world we live in.

Forgive me for it wasn't my fault
Even if it was, I have to blame someone
I am to perfect and proud to be wrong
Forgive me but I won't forgive you
I never stop to think twice
Why should I be forgiven if don't forgive
Why should  I be loved if I cannot love
Why should I be protected when I do not protect
Why should I be given when I do not give
What a world we live in

No, I cannot think of such things
Such things will make me realise I am selfish
Such things will make me realise I am self centered
Such things will take away my privileges
I can't afford to not be a brat
I can't lose my entitlement
I feed and strive on it
What a world we live in

I expect so much and do too little

And that is the summary of the world we live in.

THE WORLD NEEDS LOVE

Everyday in the news, there's always a headline about someone doing evil. Right here in South Africa it is very bad. Gender violence and corruption are an everyday thing in the news. Different organisations are trying to tackle this issue but we still have a long way to go.

The world has lost it's universal fundamental of love. As existing entities in this world, we are supposed to be entities of love. Unfortunately for this generation the love is dead. People only give love when they will gain something. It's always "I love you because..." instead of "I love you despite...", and we wonder why our world has become what it is today. Individualism and self-serving people are harvesting each and every tool to spread this.

People think they are entitled to whatever they want, and when they do not get it they lash out at everyone. When they don't get what they want they play the victim part. People have become impatient and evil. And all this is because they let go of love. If we loved one another, then we would show care, patience and kindness. If we loved one another, we wouldn't have all the racial hate violence and crimes. If we loved one another, we would be able to forgive and not be so vengeful like the world has become. There is more people being vengeful, violence and evil because they can't forgive.

A world without love has no future. The people will eat one another to fulfill their selfish desires. Our world needs love. It needs love now more than ever. Our world is in desperate need of healing. It needs people who will love despite what happens. It needs people who preach and live love.

You don't have to start far. Start with the person next to you while you read this. Love them despite what they may have done to you or anyone. Show them love without expecting anything.

ANGELS AROUNDS US

Angels don’t necessarily have wings
They roam the world with us
They smile like we do
They cry when it hurts
Angels feel alone too
Their eyes swell when they cry too
But they are still angels.

Angels aren’t in the sky
They breathe with us and share our spaces
We share public transport with them
They are emotional just like us
Yet they are still angels

Angel aren’t necessarily in the heavens
Some are right here, born of man
Wondering around in this dark world
Born from the womb of evil souls
Yet still true to their angelic sides

Angels don’t necessarily have wings
They care about their friends and family
They sacrifice themselves to see others happy
Getting used and tossed away like cheap dirt
Yet still giving another chance
Yes, angels are a bit crazy
They get shot and still go back
Believing that this time it will be better
Shot after shot they never give up
They will do all they can to see others smile
It is the only thing that gives them life
Broken hearted yet healing other hearts
They forget themselves and live for others
Angel do exist.

That person who was always good to you
And you took advantage of them
That was an angel sent for you.
You broke them but they still love you
If you go back they will still welcome you
But your pride won’t let you say sorry
Your pride would rather see you lose an angel
Because this world mistreats angels
And only realizes it when they fly away
That they were truly angels.
But all the good words will never bring them back.

APPRECIATE

What a world we live in. A world filled with adventures, misfortunes, joy and sadness. It all happens whenever it wants to and nothing we do or say can stop it from happening if it's meant to happen. It is all part of life. There's so much beauty in this life. This world is truly infinite.

Let's consider the beauty of meeting new people and appreciating people around us. This is something I feel is important to talk about because our world lacks regarding appreciating people around us. When we live we always meet new people each with their own character. Some of them are angels, and some are demons. But my focus is on the angels, as I wouldn't advice that you keep demons around you. We meet people and sometimes we fall in love. Sometimes we become friends. But often we forget the importance of the person until they are gone. We never stop to appreciate the person until it's too late.

What usually happens is that when we meet good people, we often take them for granted and assume they will always be like that. We think to ourselves, "he/she will never forsake me" or "he/she will always love me". While it may be true that a person may always love you, it is foolish to assume that such a person can never leave. With most of these assumptions, we end up taking advantage of the person. We use their kindness and love against them. Each time we are the ones always being forgiven for something. We are the ones always being assisted. We develop a feeling of being untouchable and start thinking it's because we are smart. Slowly with time we end up thinking we can get away with anything. Instead of appreciating and doing good in return, we just use the other person for our own satisfaction. The other person sacrifices all, but we choose to carry on doing as we please. Sometimes we spend our time trying to please those who do not even notice us or care about us, while mistreating the one person who would walk a thousand miles for us.

Unfortunately, most times this doesn't end very well. Something is bound to go wrong that will expose everything that has been happening. And usually this happens around the time when we need the person most. When need all the sacrifice that person has been doing. But by then it is too late, and the person is tired of forgiving or sacrificing everything. It is a point where the person has realised they were being taken advantage of and it is time to walk away. At that stage, we often look back in regret and wish we could take back our action. But we had all the time to change and didn't change. We had all the time to do what's right, but we chose to be 'smart'. In the end there's no one to blame but us.

Never take advantage of a person because you never know when you will need them most. Always remind them of how much you appreciate them and be kind to them.
